I am a big fan. I am interested in how clean your samples and themes are from and the Daily Gizwiz. I am not accomplished on any instrument. took guitar, trumpet, piano, sang trio, quartet, choral, choir. Played trumpet with neighborhood band (Funkhouse Express). Took electronic music at York College CUNY with David Earnst. Went on to follow a Physics degree but money ran out and time did not allow me the chance to complete. Moved to Rochester after Teen Challenge. On air radio announcer 1 summer at WDKX in Roch. NY and did several commercials Live and taped. I like to entertain so a home studio is a natural progression.
I wanted to know what equipment and software you use to create such a crisp and clean sound? Thank you, Jeff Pinn

Hi Jeff… Are you “Pinnhead” in the twit irc? Just wondering. Thanks for your encouraging words.
I don’t do anything technically special in my recordings. I use a Mac Pro quad running OS 10.5.8 with Digital Performer as the recording software. I guess the best thing is to get a clean recording of each instrument as you go. And, record as often as you can. I believe in Malcolm Gladwell’s 10,000 hour rule. Here’s an except form Wikipedia about his book Outliers. I hope that it helps. – Dan

A common theme that appears throughout Outliers is the “10,000-Hour Rule”, based on a study by Anders Ericsson. Gladwell claims that greatness requires enormous time, using the source of The Beatles’ musical talents and Gates’ computer savvy as examples.[3] The Beatles performed live in Hamburg, Germany over 1,200 times from 1960 to 1964, amassing more than 10,000 hours of playing time, therefore meeting the 10,000-Hour Rule. Gladwell asserts that all of the time The Beatles spent performing shaped their talent, “so by the time they returned to England from Hamburg, Germany, ‘they sounded like no one else. It was the making of them.'”[3] Gates met the 10,000-Hour Rule when he gained access to a high school computer in 1968 at the age of 13, and spent 10,000 hours programming on it.

    Hi there
I am hoping to buy the CD that has Touch the Sky on it? Is it available for purchase?

  3. Jamie says:

My family loves the Promiseland songs! Is there a piano/guitar book for the songs? We’d love to play them at home with the kids. Thanks!

    • Dan Lueders says:

Hi Jamie… Thanks, I’m so glad that your family enjoys the music. We don’t have a songbook per say, but we do have some lyric/chord sheets. Let me know what songs that you would like to have and I see what I can do. – Dan

I use Promiseland Music with my 2nd graders. When will I be able to purchase Be Strong?

  5. Dale says:

Dan, I love your music. I’ve been playing guitar since I was a kid. Nothing great by anymeans. But good enouph that I was just recruted at my church to lead the childrens ministry in worship. They all ready know most of your songs with the dances, and often start singing and dancing in the halls. Its amazing watching one 2 year old start and pretty soon all ages are joining in. I would love if you could send me a chord book for your music. Let me know what you can do. God Bless.

    • Dan Lueders says:

Thanks Dale… I love hearing stories like that. What part of the world are you from? As for a song book, we don’t have a proper one. Tell me what specific songs that you need and I’ll be happy to send them to you. – Dan

  6. Do you have split tracks available for your music? Our church does some ‘performances’ for parents and friends – and we’d love to use your material. Is it available for performances in a church (usually the families bring their video cameras)? Thanks for you help! Love the songs!!

    • Dan Lueders says:

Hi Jennie… Thanks. I do have some split tracks available but not our whole inventory. Just let me know what you need and I would be happy to create it for you.

  7. Dan Lueders says:

    Hi Cathy,

Thanks for contacting me. Unfortunately, the CD is out print. Is an mp3 file OK? You can download an mp3 here.

You can find more music like “Jesus is my Friend” on iTunes.
